A place for everyone who loves to sing!

At BCGC you can find your personal connection to music and sing with joy and freedom. We invite you to let go of any pre-existing ideas of what your voice, or the songs, are “supposed” to sound like and enjoy how we can make them sound right now, in the moment. Immerse yourself in good vibes, rhythms and harmonies, and enjoy the uplifting energy of our collective sound.

Singers of all experiences and abilities are warmly welcomed here, regardless of age, background or belief system – there are no auditions or prerequisites needed to sing with us. If you love to sing or would love to learn to sing, we have a place for you – join us for a complimentary taster session and get a feel for what singing with BCGC is all about.

We sing a variety of musical styles that includes gospel, soul, pop and folk, and sing music from a diversity of traditions, with a commitment to cultural honouring as the foundation of all we do.

Occasionally we are invited to share our voices at an event or gig – participation in gigs is always optional – we understand that not everyone wants to perform and that is ok! The act of singing is exhilarating, healing and enough!

REGULAR REHEARSALS:

WEDNESDAYS  7:00pm–8:15pm

We meet every Wednesday (during school terms) from 7:00–8:15pm at our home in beautiful St. John’s. You are very welcome to arrive from set-up time at 6.45pm for a cuppa and a chat!

We celebrate the end of each term with a free end-of-term family & friends gathering. All welcome!

FEES: Yes, we do have fees to ensure we cover our expenses and provide a stipend for our leaders. If you are experiencing financial challenges please check in with Nicki about options – a payment plan, a scholarship, a trade or exchange. Everyone should be able to enjoy a good old sing among friends and community – we actively seek to overcome barriers to participation.
